Frequently Asked
Questions
Where can we stay?
We make your fishing trip with us a very comfortable experience. You may
customize your trip in whatever way suits your needs. You may stay in a
guest cottage at Fort McAllister
Click here for lodging information, which is
walking distance from our marina (A short drive from Savannah, without
the traffic), or excellent, clean, well maintained campgrounds are also available
at Fort McAllister with full camper hookups, bathrooms, and showers. If
room service is a must, a variety of hotels and motels are a 15 minute
drive at Savannah Gateway, I-95 exit 94.
How do we
get here? Take exit 90 from I-95, if coming from
I-95 S, exit and turn left on
Hwy 144, OR if coming from I-95 N, exit and turn right
on Hwy 144. Follow the brown signs to Fort McAllister. Go
through the intersection at Coastal Highway 17, stay
straight. Go over two railroad tracks, then a couple of
miles until you'll see the Zip-N BP station on the left.
Turn left there onto Fort McAllister Road (144 spur). Go
about 3 miles, you will see The Ogeechee on your left.
The marina is on your left just as you go over the
causeway.

Where do we
eat? You can eat here at the marina, or you can drive into town for a wide
variety, or go just 15-20 minutes down the road to Gateway
Savannah for Cracker Barrel, Denny's, Hooters, Shoney's,
etc. A few more minutes down the road, and you can have
any number of Southside Savannah restaurant fare.
How many
people can go on the trip? Our maximum guest
number for the Double or Nothing is 6. This insures the
best experience and safety for all of our fishing
charter guests.
Do you still
go out in bad weather or rough seas? The captain
will make the call when weather is questionable. The
safety of our guests will always be the deciding factor.
If offshore fishing is not possible, in some cases we
can offer an inshore trip instead. The captain will
advise you of your options.
We will make every
effort possible to cancel trips in advance if bad
weather approaches, but weather can change quickly, and
cancellation may be necessary at the dock.
Charter money will
be refunded if a trip is cancelled due to weather.
I have never
been on a fishing trip before. That is not a
problem. We provide all the necessary equipment, bait,
instruction, and assistance at no extra charge. We enjoy
introducing everyone to the fun of fishing.
Am I
guaranteed to catch fish? We use all of our
knowledge and expertise, along with years of experience,
to put you on top of the fish. Keep in mind, however,
that we are dealing with Mother Nature, and she can be
fickle. Fishing conditions change with the weather, and
Mother Nature will have the ultimate say in how many
fish you catch. Your skill level and luck will also
affect your catch......That's why they call it fishing!
Which day do
you recommend that I book? If you're traveling
here we recommend that you book a day with some built in
flexibility, and a day or so free to follow, in case
there is a weather delay. Seas can kick up to 6 feet one
day, and lay down to less than two the next.
How long is
a fishing trip? We offer a variety of different
trips. You can book anywhere from a 6 hour trolling or bottom fishing trip all the way up to a 16
hour Gulf Stream trip.

descriptions and times.
Do I need a
fishing license? Yes, click below for more information, and to purchase,
or call 1-888-748-6887.

Purchase your fishing license online! Do I need to
bring lunch and drinks? You may either bring
your own, or arrange to purchase from the marina.
Please let them know in advance, so they can have you
well stocked. Bring plenty to drink, as fishing can be
hard work.
Can I bring
my own rods and reels? Sure! But we have plenty
of rods and reels that have been chosen specifically for
the type fishing we do. We feel we have the best
equipment for the job.
Do you take
children? Yes, we will take children if they can fit in a PFD. If they are
too small, they must bring their
own USCG approved PFD. Captain Tim is a dad, and he is
happy to have kids along on trips, but the captain and
mate are not equipped to baby-sit, so be sure you're
prepared to adequately supervise your little ones. We
charge extra to change diapers! We have special trips
and clinics for kids in addition to our regular trips.
Remember that safety always comes first.
Do I have to
pay a deposit?
A 50% deposit is
required to reserve a charter.
Balance is due
before leaving the dock. Personal checks are accepted
only if submitted at least 21 days prior to the trip
date. Returned checks will be charged a $25 processing
fee.
You may pay your deposit by credit card, PayPal, or
by check or money order. Returned checks will be charged a $25
processing fee.

Otherwise, deposit will be forfeited. Charter money will be refunded if the captain cancels

Can we get
our fish cleaned before packing to go home? Yes.
Cost will vary depending on the number and type of
fish. The fish cleaner will give you a price quote at
the dock following your trip. Ask your captain to radio
ahead to let him know you're coming.
How safe is
this trip? All boats are US Coast Guard approved
for up to six passengers. All boats have the latest in
electronic equipment. Our captains are fully qualified,
experienced, and licensed, and your safety always comes
first.
What type of
fish can I expect to catch? It will depend on
which trip you book, and what is biting. Ask your
captain in an E-mail close to the date of your trip, and
he'll let you know what's been biting.
